Joe joined State Security in 1995 after serving with an international security firm in Detroit, Michigan, as Manager-National Accounts and Principal Consultant. While there, he handled security planning and systems for companies ranging in size from small to Fortune 100. He is a former instructor at the National Crime Prevention Institute, University of Louisville, KY, where he instructed law enforcement and corporate security professionals in several topics including electronic security, access control, systems integration, workplace violence management, as well as theft, robbery and burglary prevention.

Previously, he served for 18 years with the Roanoke City Police Department and finished his career as the department’s Crime Prevention Specialist. Joe brings 25 years of experience in physical and electronic security to State Security. He is a graduate of the Police Academy in Roanoke, Virginia and has accumulated hundreds of hours in advanced training at various law enforcement and security seminars across America. He is a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, Certified Alarm Technician and Certified Law Enforcement Instructor. He is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security. Joe is past Chairman of the Roanoke Neighborhood Partnership Crime Prevention Subcommittee and has received numerous awards for his professional abilities.
